Eric bought 3 similar wallets and 4 similar shirts at $ 180. When he bought 5 such wallets and 2 such shirts, he paid $ 20 less. What is the cost of 1 shirt?

3 wallets & 4 shirts - $ 180
5 wallets & 2 shirts would cost $ 160 since its cost is $ 20 lesser
Make the quantity of shirts same. Which means, if 5 wallets and 2 shirts cost $ 160 then we can conclude that 10 wallets & 4 shirts would cost $ 320.
Hence 7 wallets cost $ 140 divided by 7 which equals to $ 20.
1 wallet cost $ 20
So 1 shirt is $180 - ( 20 x 3) divided by 4
1 shirt is $ 30
