Dear Parents of Learning Verve,
Please note that the students are required to fill up on their tuition notebook what they have done for revision on a weekly basis. The tutors will check their notebook and query each stdent more on this. An hour a week is to be commited for each subject and this must not include completing of tuition homework.

To witness an improvement of say 10 - 15 marks for a maths paper does not occur by chance. A student needs to be systematic in his / her preparation and constant revision is a must.
Remember this golden rule. " COMPLETING YOUR SCHOOL AND TUITION ASSIGNMENT ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH IF YOU HAVE AMBITIONS TO IMPROVE. THESE ARE THE BARE MINIMUM."


Here are tips to improve your Maths.

1. Plan a weekly revision time table for maths. 2 sessions of 45 mins each will be a good start. THESE SESSIONS ARE  NOT FOR YOU TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Discipline is key. Increase the session by 10 mins each every fortnightly. A maximum of 3 hours a week is sufficient as you do have other commitments to fulfill.



2. Before commencement of each session, map out the revision plan. Example could be :-

a. Revising and familiarizing previous or news topic taught in school. Practicing the topic from your school's textbook and activity book. Figure out the answers to the green boxes in your textbook. These are basic mathemetical concepts one should grasp before being posed with more challenging questions.



b. Drilling of word problem sums taught in school and tuition. Analyse the characteristics of each sums and familiarize yourself with the method and steps to solve them. Practice makes perfect.



c. Challenging yourself with past year exam papers or assessment books. Reacquaint yourself with exam centric questions.

REVISE & REJUVENATE

Dear students,


Your sa1 has finished but your learning journey for 2015 is alway halfway completed. Have a good rest and recuperate.


Come back rejuvenated. Remember to

INVEST AT LEAST AN HOUR FOR REVISION FOR EACH SUBJECT EVERY WEEK.
Start looking back at your home timetable and see if any tweaking is needed.


JUNE HOLIDAYS ARE AROUND THE CORNER.IT IS ALWAYS THE BEST TIME TO CATCH UP ON REVISION. MAKE SPECIAL PLANS TO PUT IN MORE TIME TO YOUR REVISION. SAYING THAT, DO SET TIME FOR YOUR RECREATIONAL TIME AS WELL.

PHOTOCOPY SA1 PAPERS

Dear valued parents & students,


As all schools have started to disseminate the sa1 papers to their students, we would greatly appreciate if you could make a photocopy of each paper.

This would allow us to-


1. Analyze their strenghts and weaknesses on various topics and section.
2. Accertain if they are commiting careless errors and what are their exam habits.
3. See if they have followed steps and technique taught during tuition.
4. To evaluate if they have met goals set for each section and overall paper

The Learning Verve is recruiting Pri - Sec tutors for classes at Bedok North, Chai Chee Ave,Tampines & Yishun for selected classes. This a part time position.


Candidate should possess at least a diploma in any field.19 years old and above. No gender preferance. Teaching and tutoring experience will be of advantage but not a neccessity.


Above all, the individual /individuals should be passionate about teaching and is /are commited to each child's optimum performance. In addition if you feel you have the inate knack of motivating children then we would like to meet you.
